Grammar or Grammer? or just English?

Okay, I come from a family where grammar is SOOOOOO important.  Especially to my sweet dad.  So, when I saw this yesterday I said to myself "self" "you're blogging about this tomorrow".
It was in the Huffington Post. Or is it "on"?  oh well......
Anyway, grammar, spelling, and anything having to do with English, is a big deal in my family.
Well, it is to me at least.
Pardon me if I get something incorrect, I promise it is always a typo :)

Okay the "misuse" of "lie" and "lay" is my father's biggest irritant
You "lie" down.  You "lay" something down.

Most of these are spelling errors not grammar errors.
And, I was SO surprised that they didn't use the improper way of saying this: "Me and Kendall went to dinner last night" (my biggest irritant).  Kids these days improperly use this all the time! It should be "Kendall and I went to dinner last night."  errrrggg.
They also didn't use an example of ending a sentence with a preposition.  Such as:
"Where are you going to"?  Instead it should be "Where are you going"

I take no responsibility with typos in this English lesson.....
and why am I even writing about this?
I type like I talk, so if I use something incorrectly, please know I just don't know no better.
Are you an English fanatic???
tehe.
Have a great day y'all!

Easy Shrimp Dish

I love sauteed shrimp.  AND, I was in need of a few more calories after our trip to Italy.
I think I packed on a good 10 pounders.  I'm serious, it was getting ridiculous with the gelato folks.  Even I was getting embarrassed eating it because I had eaten so much.  Every time I saw a sign saying gelato I was darting for the shoppe.  I'm starting a work out program today so last night was like my last "real" supper. So, I made one of my favorite dishes, sauteed shrimp.  Here's how ya do it and it is sooooooo easy!
start with peeling some large shrimp.  I couldn't find any REALLY large shrimp so I jut had to make due with these.  These really weren't even worth de-veining.

Melt a stick of butter. 1/2 if you like less butter

Throw in some chopped green onions and saute for about a minute

Then dump in the shrimp

Saute those babies for about a minute or two

When they're nice and pink squeeze in two lemons

and about 1/2 a cup of white wine. Or more if you like.  You can also use sherry.  I really like the sherry better but couldn't find any.  Also, I thickened up the sauce with a wonderful item called "Wondra".
It should be in your cabinet,,,,it's a must.  It's kind of a light flour/cornstarch mixture that you can just throw in right on top and mix in to thicken up a sauce.  It doesn't lump up at all.

Pardon me for not following the food pryamid.  But "W" wanted some brown rice (boil in a bag) and baked sweet potatoes (straight from the bag)
It was a yummy EZ meal!!!
have a wonderful day y'all!

The Vatican and Alfredos (the original)

How do you go to Rome without visiting the Vatican????  So, of course we did.  Now if you ever go to Rome and want to visit the Vatican BE SURE TO GET A GUIDE...... period.  We did, but even with a guide I remember very little about what she said.  But,,,,it did make me want to go back to school and study Art History.  Just to let you know, there are few things (if any) that are as amazing as The Vatican.
So, these are just a collection of some of the pictures I took. (I took over 400)

one of my favorite paintings there

This IS one thing I remember.  Sebastian.  He decided to convert to Christianity against his father's will.  So, his father shot arrows through him.  He was nursed back to health and went back to his father to show him that Christ had healed him.  His father's response?  He beheaded him.

This is the Belvedere Torso.   The greatest Renaissance artists, starting with Michelangelo and Raphael, had deep admiration for this fragment.  It was thought to portray Herculus. Many artists used this as a starting point for their sculptures.  Not sure where all the body parts went.

Amazing mosaic floor

these are maps of before Italy a long time ago and Italy now respectively

you touch this cross as you go through

These letters in the Sistine Chapel stand 12 ft. tall.  It was amazing because they looked like they were about 2 ft. tall

could you imagine having painted that ceiling?

On to Alfredo's for dinner.
Inventor of the Fettucini Alfredo
This is a very old and famous restaurant in Rome and SO worth visiting.
They had to roll me outta there folks.....seriously

and that's it!
We had a wonderful time in Italy.  Try to go if you can.
Thank you for reading! (and commenting)!
Have a wonderful Sunday.  As you can tell, I'm still jetlagged. It's 3:48 a.m. and I'm going to paint!
